  REAL Magazine Ministry

More than 50 years ago the Adventist Church launched Guide to enhance the spiritual growth of young people ages 10-14. But there are 21 million children in North America who don't attend an Adventist church and don't receive Guide.

How can we reach out to those children and share gospel truths with them? This is the question that led the Guide staff to develop Real magazine.

Sharing the Adventist Advantage

The children who get Guide magazine in their churches have a great advantage over children in other congregations--they get a weekly magazine that points to Jesus and builds character. Providing spiritual nurture to this age group is critical. To quote the Christian researcher George Barna, “The primary window of opportunity for effectively reaching people with the good news of Jesus’ death and resurrection is during the preteen years. It is during those years that people develop their frames of reference for the remainder of their life.”

A Mission Beyond Church Walls

Real magazine, Guide's new bimonthly outreach publication, takes the blessing of Guide to children who belong to any church, or no church! Packed with stories, puzzles, fun facts, and Bible studies, it will help young people form a saving relationship with Jesus and apply biblical truth in their lives. Best of all, it's FREE, because we want this magazine to get into the hands of as many children as possible.

Young people can nominate their friends to receive a gift subscription to Real magazine and enjoy a whole year of faith-building, true stories. Adults can nominate children they care about. Church members help sponsor these subscriptions. We see this project spreading to touch the lives of kids all over this continent.
